It depends on your nationality: * **Visa-Free Entry**: Citizens of **the US, UK, Canada, Australia, UAE, and most European countries** can visit **without a visa for up to 90 days within a 180-day period**. * **Visa Required**: Nationals of **India, Pakistan, China, Nigeria, the Philippines, and some other countries** need a **Bulgarian visa** before traveling. * **Schengen Visa Holders**: If you have a **valid multiple-entry Schengen Visa**, you **do not need a separate Bulgaria visa** for short stays. ####
* **As of 2024, Bulgaria is partially part of the Schengen Area**. * **Air and sea border checks with Schengen countries ended in March 2024**. * **Land border checks remain until further integration**. * **A Bulgaria visa does NOT grant access to Schengen countries**, but **Schengen visa holders can enter Bulgaria**. ####
* **Short-Stay Visa (Type C)** – For tourism, business, or family visits (**valid up to 90 days**). * **Long-Stay Visa (Type D)** – For work, study, or residence (**valid for 6-12 months**). * **Transit Visa** – For travelers passing through Bulgaria.
* **Apply at the Bulgarian embassy or consulate** in your home country. * **Processing time**: **10–15 working days** (longer for some nationalities).
